About The Position

Contributes to the overall success of Talent & Core HR in globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships. Provides highly specialized technical leadership in the analysis, design, development, and support of cost-effective online HR management and decision support systems, within SuccessFactors. The incumbent is responsible for the resolution of complex business problems and must work under tight deadlines, conflicting priorities and changing requirements. This includes managing multiple small projects, participating in and/or managing specific sections of large projects, and providing ongoing support to all assigned units globally (utilizing Agile methodologies where applicable). Independently resolves complex, multi-faceted problems to meet business needs by applying HR and technological knowledge to the design of methodologies, models, and/or systems solutions. This includes conducting research and analysis, participating in defining business requirements and processes, participating in the reengineering of the HR business process and liaising with users. Manages multiple medium HR technology projects and/or manages specific sections of large projects to implement technology solutions for HR business problems. This involves planning and scheduling resources, developing detailed project plans and monitoring progress against planned objectives. Participates in the SuccessFactors systems implementation process by interpreting business requirements into systems analysis, technical specification, documenting detailed reporting requirements, configuration of HR vendor software and providing post-implementation support. Participates in the review of Quality Assurance (QA) test strategies for assigned projects/initiatives to ensure planned testing is comprehensive and consistent with business requirements. Supports QA testing by analyzing defects to provide clarification of technical specifications and defect resolution. Continually acquires and enhances knowledge of the Division's business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, Back Office processes, and rapidly changing technology to be able to provide effective business solutions and services to the end user business lines. Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Requirements

  • 5+ years combined SAP SuccessFactors configuration lead experience
  • SAP SuccessFactors certification in at least one Talent space
  • Working knowledge of HR business process.
  • Creative, self-starting, results-oriented and highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills in order to apply this knowledge to independently resolve complex business problems.
  • Proven interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills in order to build consensus and obtain cooperation from both users and senior management.
  • Must have a very good understanding of current IT practices, systems development techniques, including requirements specification and testing methodologies, real time analytical and formal modelling tools and keep current with rapidly changing technology.
  • A recognized undergraduate degree in computer science, mathematics engineering or a related discipline, along with 4 to 6 years of practical experience is required.
