About The Position

Join Workday’s Revenue Accounting Team as an experienced technical revenue accounting professional responsible for leading the team’s technical accounting work and its operationalization. The role partners with business functions to assess potential revenue outcomes, maintains accounting policies and positions, advances process and control improvements, and supports month-end close, deal reviews, and audit activities. The team focuses on accuracy and transparency in revenue recognition, professional growth, work-life balance, automation, and accounting for new entities.

Requirements

10+ years of related accounting experience.
Degree in Accounting or Finance.
5+ years of Big 4 and management experience.
Experience researching technical accounting guidance and writing technical accounting positions.
Ability to adapt to rapid business and organizational changes in a high-growth environment.

Nice To Haves

CPA license.
Experience in the SaaS or technology industry.
Experience using Workday.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with business functions, including Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, and Finance, to provide potential revenue outcomes based on business proposals.
Provide technical accounting expertise to the Revenue Accounting Team.
Maintain the team’s accounting policies and positions, including ongoing evaluation in light of business needs.
Drive internal continuous-improvement initiatives and substantiate accounting conventions.
Develop and implement improvements to internal processes, the control framework, and internal reporting.
Manage workflow to provide timely feedback and input while keeping management informed of key issues.
Collaborate with the broader Revenue Accounting Team on month-end close and deal review activities.
Work with external auditors to address and close audit issues in a timely manner.
