About The Position

Freshworks is seeking a Senior Manager of Technical Revenue to lead high-impact, complex revenue-recognition projects and enhance accounting and reporting capabilities. Reporting directly to the Director of Revenue, this role is responsible for revenue close and technical accounting activities. The position requires mastery of current US GAAP and technical accounting pronouncements, strong analytical skills, and close attention to detail. The role works across revenue accounting operations, systems and process improvement, and technical accounting research. It includes collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring India teams on ongoing initiatives. The annual base salary range is $180,000–$220,000, with eligibility for variable compensation. Bonus or equity may also be available; compensation depends on factors including location, experience, job-related skills, and level.

Requirements

Proven public accounting experience; managerial non-audit experience is required.
Experience working with remote teams is required.
Deep understanding of ASC 606 revenue-recognition principles and standards, with experience applying them to complex SaaS or technology arrangements.
Experience implementing revenue-recognition automation software tools such as Zuora Revenue or NetSuite ARM.
Working experience with Salesforce and integrations into NetSuite.
Ability to perform intricate technical analyses and create clear, actionable reports or position papers.
Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment.
Strong analytical skills and a high degree of attention to detail.
Mastery of current US GAAP and technical accounting pronouncements.

Responsibilities

Perform and assist with monthly revenue-cycle controls, including contract reviews and deal support, and conduct detailed reviews of the team's work.
Ensure compliance with ASC 606 requirements, including standalone selling price (SSP) setups and updates.
Conduct technical accounting research on revenue-related topics and prepare or update memoranda as needed.
Design and implement systems and processes to automate revenue recognition in alignment with revenue-recognition policies and objectives.
Perform close-related accounting reviews and analyses.
Mentor India teams on ongoing system, process, and workpaper improvement initiatives.
Work with cross-functional teams, including Partner Program/Operations, IT Business Applications, FP&A, and Legal.
