About The Position

The Senior Manager, Project Manager serves as a strategic and operational partner to US Medical Autoimmune and Field Medical leadership within the Cell Therapy Medical Organization. This individual independently and proactively leads cross-functional initiatives, drives operational excellence, and ensures seamless execution of medical and field medical priorities/workstreams — operating with passion, innovation, speed, and accountability. Examples: Medical matrix meetings, medical planning, budget management/planning, congress activities, Ad Board planning, and portfolio governance/decision making. The role will partner across matrix functions (Medical Evidence Generation, finance, development teams, corporate giving, advocacy, professional societies, business operations, etc.) to support One BMS, prioritization and decision making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical research, development, or commercialization (science background strongly recommended)
  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA, etc. preferred)
  • Solid understanding of drug development and commercialization
  • MS office applications and IT platforms
  • Proven project management experience including matrix team management, budget oversight, metrics reporting, and leadership communication
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex scientific discussions and develop clear, actionable follow-up plans
  • Experience building cross-functional relationships and leading strategic programs across diverse teams and business functions
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and effective working independently within matrixed environments
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, driving change, and championing innovation

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Field Medical and Medical leadership to translate medical strategy into annual operating plans, POAs, and execution roadmaps.
  • Support launch readiness, indication expansions, and new field medical models.
  • Facilitate the development, execution, and strategic review of Medical Plans, ensuring alignment with therapeutic area portfolio objectives.
  • Lead and optimize Field Medical processes including territory/national assignments, engagement models, and interaction governance.
  • Provide oversight and administration of key platforms including Vault, SharePoint, and InterAct.
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to drive continued evolution of the Operations function and enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Oversee Medical Matrix Medical Team meetings — including agenda development, content management, presenter alignment, minutes, action item tracking, and SharePoint documentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical plans, manage cross-functional dependencies, and provide transparent progress reporting to medical leads and senior leadership.
  • Track performance, identify risks and barriers, and partner with medical leadership to resolve issues proactively.
  • Manage field metrics, dashboards, and scorecards covering engagement, insights, and activity mix.
  • Support Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), ad hoc performance analyses, and Leadership Team (LT) meetings.
  • Oversee medical insight systems (e.g., MEDSights, InterAct), including taxonomy governance, quality and compliance standards, and trend synthesis and escalation.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure insights inform strategy, evidence generation, and education planning.
  • Support medical congress operations including tracking and approvals, booth staffing, session coverage planning, and ancillary meeting and logistics coordination.
  • Partner with the Congress Management Team, EMCoE, and Corporate Giving on key external engagements.
  • Partner with Finance and Medical leads to facilitate the full budget cycle — including annual planning, monthly projections, accruals, variance analysis, and trade-off discussions — ensuring brand budgets remain on track.
  • Serve as a key interface between Field Medical, Medical Affairs leadership, and home office medical strategy teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across Development, HEOR, Commercial, Finance, Advocacy, and Professional Societies to drive strategic alignment.
  • Ensure Medical Team members are fully represented in decision-making processes and that key communications are captured and disseminated.
