Senior Manager, Product - Hardware

Stormentum Inc•Austin, TX
•Onsite

About The Position

Stormentum is seeking a hands-on product owner for its power electronics hardware. Reporting to the SVP of Product, this individual contributor will work across engineering, customers, and the market, translating the work of controls, firmware, and hardware teams into products for data center operators, OEMs, and microgrid partners. The role owns the path from product definition through go-to-market launch. The first major launch is Stormentum’s in-rack power electronics solution, a power tray designed for the server rack. The product manager will guide it from preproduction and testing through supply chain readiness and commercial launch by the end of 2027, while representing customer needs internally and helping engineering make product tradeoffs. This is an onsite role in Austin, Texas, suited to an experienced hardware product manager who is comfortable writing PRDs, joining design reviews, and engaging directly with customers and partners. The role also contributes to product strategy, commercial plans, positioning, market research, product metrics, and the evolution of the product function as the company grows.

  • At least 5 years of hardware product management experience, owning a product family or category within a complex technical product portfolio.

  • Product experience in power electronics, power supplies, or powered electronic hardware; experience may come from industrial, commercial, or consumer electronics.
  • Hardware-centric product background with working exposure to firmware and software.
  • Experience writing PRDs and translating customer needs into engineering requirements.
  • Experience building product strategy, go-to-market plans, and launch programs.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to work closely with engineering, operations, and commercial teams.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment.

  • Experience with data center power infrastructure, such as rack power, power shelves, PSUs, or high-voltage DC distribution.
  • Existing relationships across the data center ecosystem, including hyperscalers, OEMs, GPU and compute suppliers, or rack and power integrators.
  • Product experience in microgrids, EV charging, or energy storage.
  • Startup or early-stage experience, including launching a company’s first product.
  • Power electronics or hardware design background that combines technical depth with commercial instincts.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with data center operators, hyperscalers, OEMs, GPU and compute suppliers, and microgrid partners; bring their input into product decisions.
  • Gather competitive intelligence and turn findings into actionable product and engineering recommendations.
  • Drive product positioning, messaging, and value proposition; partner with external marketing resources on collateral, web content, and sales enablement.
