About The Position

The Senior Manager of US Card Search Engine Marketing will be responsible for setting channel strategy, supporting product initiatives across a diverse organization, enhancing how our team operates, and constantly looking for ways to optimize the broader program. You will lead a team of four (3 marketing associates and 1 process manager) who manage the day-to-day operations and campaign execution for one of Capital One’s largest acquisition channels - Paid Search. A key part of this role is looking for ways to automate and optimize processes to make the Marketing team overall more efficient and effective. The candidate needs to be skilled in managing stakeholder and customer expectations, while concurrently maintaining delivery momentum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 8 years of experience in digital acquisition marketing and paid media
  • At least 5 years of people management experience

  • Experience working for a marketing agency or client-side that manages performance marketing in house
  • 9+ years of experience in digital acquisition marketing and paid media
  • 6+ years of experience managing people
  • 5+ years of experience in Search Engine Marketing overseeing high volume and multi-million dollar marketing budgets
  • 5+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment with a track record of effectively working autonomously and navigating ambiguity
  • 3+ years of experience with marketing analytics and optimization
  • 2+ years of experience using Ad Platforms
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing for financial services or another highly regulated industry
  • 2+ years of experience in project management

Responsibilities

  • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversions, and online customer acquisition
  • Lead, train and manage a team of Search Engine Marketing associates to build and execute paid search campaigns in-house
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies, betas, and new opportunities; advise on new ways to reach audiences
  • Oversee daily management of search campaigns from planning and execution to analysis and reporting; Ensure team launches campaigns error-free
  • Collaborate with internal partners to develop digital strategies for product launches, run tests and scale opportunities to grow new customer acquisition
  • Develop and execute campaign testing agenda, including; ad copy, landing page, audience, and channel expansion testing
  • Oversee the team in writing ad copy for the channel
  • Partner with business analytics team to track and measure performance and report on campaign effectiveness
  • Identify opportunities for performance optimizations across the account
  • Ensure the channel is run in a well-managed way, documenting key artifacts and looking for ways to optimize processes and continuously seek to automate and streamline processes to make the team more efficient
  • Work closely with internal partners from the Card business team, Marketing, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Enterprise Supplier Management, etc. to drive work forward
  • Work closely with our third party vendors, helping to influence their roadmaps
