About The Position

Ashland Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager of Global Benefits to join their remote team. This is a significant and visible role within the Total Rewards and HR Services Team leadership. The position reports to the Vice President of Total Rewards and HR Services. The Senior Manager of Global Benefits will be responsible for the design, governance, administration, effectiveness, and financial sustainability of Ashland’s global benefits programs. The goal is to attract and retain talent and improve employee health and productivity. This role will support employees, executives, and strategic business objectives worldwide across various benefit areas including Health & Welfare, Retirement & Savings, Survivor & Protection, Time-Off & Leave Programs, Wellbeing & Lifestyle, Work-Life & Family, Other Perquisites & Supplemental Benefits, and Executive Compensation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 10–15 years of progressive benefits management experience in benefits policy design, governance, compliance, and administration globally.
  • Five years of management experience.
  • Experience with designing, recommending, and implementing executive incentive compensation programs (e.g. short-term and long-term incentives).
  • Strong experience with directly managing all aspects of U.S. benefits programs including defined benefit, defined contribution, retiree medical/life, and union plans.
  • Experience supporting or influencing union benefits negotiations and resolving union grievances regarding benefits offered.
  • Demonstrated understanding of fiduciary responsibilities and SOX‑related controls for benefits programs.
  • Experience managing benefits administration through external partners and platforms (e.g., Paycom, Benefitfocus).
  • Experience managing global and local brokers and supporting benefit decisions for countries in which we operate.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times.
  • The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different.

  • Experience evaluating market data and recommending a total rewards package for executive level roles.

  • Design, governance, administration, effectiveness, and financial sustainability of Ashland’s full spectrum of global benefits programs.
  • Support employees, executives, and strategic business objectives worldwide in areas such as Health & Welfare, Retirement & Savings, Survivor & Protection, Time-Off & Leave Programs, Wellbeing & Lifestyle, Work-Life & Family, Other Perquisites & Supplemental Benefits, and Executive Compensation.
  • Limited Travel – to work with your team and leadership meetings.
  • Actively contribute to organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals and focusing on performance and safety.
  • Improve organizational capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent and utilizing positive communications and influence with others.
  • Bring new ideas and innovation to the table, working with 30+ countries and local HR Business Partners, European works councils, and Unions.
  • Manage benefits administration through external partners and platforms.
  • Manage global and local brokers and support benefit decisions for countries in which we operate.
  • Prepare and present materials to the compensation committee of the board.
  • Evaluate market data and recommend a total rewards package for executive level roles.
