About The Position

The Group Risk Management (GRM) Talent and Learning team is part of the GRM Chief Operating Office (COO). Our purpose and passion is to make GRM a preferred destination for top talent through our Early Talent and Development programs, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth for both new and experienced employees. As an important contributor to this growing team, the Senior Manager, Talent will work at the intersection of strategy, talent development, and program excellence, leading our Rotation Associate program and equipping our early-career professionals for success at RBC. Requirements

  • An excellent communicator, leader, coach, and relationship builder.
  • 5+ years of experience in talent development, early talent programs, HR, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a love for learning new things.
  • Excellent proficiency in excel, PowerPoint and AI
  • Comfort with adapting to change and trying new approaches.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with tech like learning management systems (LMS) or talent analytics platforms.
  • An MBA or project management certification.
  • Experience in risk management or financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 10–15 Rotation Associates including onboarding and day-to-day HR management activities.
  • Provide weekly coaching sessions, observational coaching, 1:1 updates, and support ongoing development plans.
  • Host onboarding sessions for RA cohorts and instill a continuous learning and growth mindset in all RAs.
  • Create and keep up to date an onboarding guide.
  • Conduct Rotation Manager introductions, ensuring smooth transitions between rotations.
  • Keep up to date data on program statistics, track rotations and opportunities.
  • Assess and evaluate RA progress and performance through ongoing feedback from Rotation Managers, mid-year check-ins, and year-end performance reviews.
  • Be a culture carrier, imprinting the RBC Purpose, Vision, Values, Collective Ambition, and Leadership Model on all.
  • Create RA networking opportunities.
  • Promote the program and hire the right talent that will promote it organically as they rotate.
  • Host talent booth at Innovation Expo.
  • Partner with business managers and senior leadership to identify high-priority areas and assignments for rotation opportunities and host managers.
  • Create a pipeline of host managers and rotations.
  • Ensuring ongoing alignment with GRM’s objectives, strategic priorities, and regulatory compliance requirements.
