Senior Manager, Event & Partner Program Operations

Microsoft•Redmond, WA
•$106,400 - $222,600

About The Position

At Microsoft Advertising, the Senior Manager, Event & Partner Program Operations builds the operational foundation connecting the event portfolio and partner programs to consistent execution, trusted data, and actionable business insight. The role is accountable for end-to-end operational integrity across first-, second-, and third-party events, from global tentpoles to regional and scaled programs, covering planning, execution and data capture, post-event activation, and measurement. For partner programs, the role enables execution through systems, processes, data, governance, and reporting. It aligns operational priorities, ownership, and measures with Partner Marketing, which retains responsibility for program strategy, partner engagement and communications strategy and content, member experience, recognition strategy, and growth outcomes. The role translates those priorities into scalable operational capabilities rather than assuming ownership of those strategies. The position works across Global and Regional Marketing, Experiential, Client & Partner Marketing, Sales and Sales Operations, Analytics, Finance, and Product and Engineering. It replaces fragmented platforms and manual work with integrated systems, shared definitions, clear workflows, and reliable measurement across both portfolios.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of marketing operations, program management, project management, or related experience, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of marketing operations, program management, project management, or related experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or a related field and 8+ years of marketing operations, program management, project management, or related experience, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of technology/process improvement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own capability requirements and a prioritized operational roadmap across events and partner programs, beginning with an ecosystem audit of systems, workflows, stakeholders, vendors, reporting, communications, governance, and manual effort; translate findings into a business backlog of automation and process improvements with business cases, milestones, dependencies, and decision points.
  • Lead multi-semester planning and cross-functional governance, including change control; establish shared Marketing and Sales definitions, ownership, escalation paths, and support models; surface blockers and trade-offs early; and provide executive stakeholders with progress reporting, data insights, business cases, and recommendations.
  • Design repeatable workflows linking event planning, execution, contact capture, and post-event activation. Lead on-site operational readiness at global tentpoles for compliant lead and contact capture, customer meetings, and clean Sales handoffs, partnering with Experiential and event teams on dependencies without owning overall logistics or creative delivery.
  • Define how contacts, engagement, meetings, and leads move into shared systems and follow-up workflows. Work with Sales Operations and Marketing to make ownership and observable follow-up behaviors visible, improve handoff quality, and close gaps between event participation and subsequent activation.
  • Own cross-functional operations for agreed partner program priorities, including escalations and support. Establish intake and ticketing, approvals, dependency management, launch-readiness checks, and a single source of truth for operating procedures and status; clarify decision rights and support responsibilities with Partner Marketing and delivery teams.
  • Maintain an annual benefits and engagement calendar with Partner Marketing, coordinating execution readiness for workshops, webinars, awards, sweepstakes, newsletters, and market expansions. Operationalize eligibility, participation tracking, and workflows for benefits, incentives, and recognition. Coordinate vendors, statements of work, procurement, and service delivery against agreed requirements and milestones.
  • Create unified operational tracking and reporting across partner emails, newsletters, webinars, events, and the portal. With Analytics, validate audiences and segmentation for enrolled partners, qualified organizations not yet enrolled, and nonpartners. Establish data-quality checks and consent controls for accurate audience delivery while Partner Marketing owns communications strategy and content.
  • Oversee operational requirements for the partner portal, CRM, partner-data, and consent systems in collaboration with business and technical owners. Coordinate enhancements, bugs, support, and cross-system dependencies. Define business, process, data, and analytics requirements upfront, including migration readiness, validation, and launch acceptance criteria.
  • Translate event and partner-program needs into prioritized engineering requirements and an integrated delivery backlog. Partner with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and business teams to assess feasibility, resolve dependencies, manage changes, and validate capabilities before launch. Maintain shared data definitions and a reliable operational source of truth across systems.
  • Partner with Analytics, Finance, Marketing, and Sales Operations to establish consistent event measurement across engagement, contacts, customer meetings, leads, acquisition and conversion, observable sales follow-up, influenced pipeline, acceleration, and return on investment. Align definitions, attribution methods, reporting windows, and data-quality standards; distinguish observed influence and association from evidence of causation.
  • With Analytics and Partner Marketing, develop accurate dashboards and analyses covering operational performance, partner engagement, enrollment, business impact, and return on investment. Reconcile inputs, validate reporting, explain limitations, and provide director- and general manager-level stakeholders with insights and recommendations. Agree measures and targets with stakeholders rather than assuming predefined commitments.
  • Build standard operating procedures, training, and support resources for global and regional teams. Drive adoption, clarify handoffs and escalation paths, monitor execution quality and turnaround, and use feedback and operational evidence to reduce manual work and strengthen repeatability as programs scale.
  • Partner with Privacy, Legal, accessibility, procurement, and delivery teams to embed applicable requirements into data capture, consent management, audience use, vendor delivery, and launch readiness. Maintain clear governance and approval workflows, and escalate risks or gaps before they affect execution.
