About The Position

The Development Department supports Encompass Health’s growth objectives through de novo and small format hospital development, joint ventures, bed expansions, and acquisitions. The Senior Manager Development helps evaluate and advance projects by preparing market and financial analyses, assisting with project management, preparing presentation and report materials, and drafting requests for proposal responses. The position is based at the company’s Home Office in Birmingham, Alabama, and reports to a Vice President of Development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a similar field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in healthcare finance, strategy, or corporate development; investment banking; management consulting; or a similar field, preferably with a healthcare focus.
• Experience translating complex strategies and ideas into an easily understandable narrative and presentation.
• Experience evaluating or preparing financial statements or pro formas.
• Experience analyzing data and drawing conclusions about risks and opportunities.
• Project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in assisting with and learning all aspects of the business development process.
• Assist Directors and Vice Presidents of Development with project management functions.
• Prepare market and financial analyses for project evaluation.
• Conduct market research to prepare the team for internal and external presentations.
• Prepare portions of presentation materials and reports for internal and external purposes.
• Work with the Development team to develop financial models.
• Assist with the internal due diligence process.
• Draft RFP responses.
