About The Position

Fieldguide is seeking a Senior Manager, Deployed Engineering to join their team. This role is a player-coach position where the individual will be hands-on in building and scaling the deployed engineering effort. Initially, the role involves working directly in customer deployments, writing production code, and solving complex technical problems. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for building and leading a team. As the team grows, the focus will shift more towards leadership, while maintaining close proximity to the work. The role reports to the CTO/co-founder and collaborates with Product, Engineering, and Customer leadership.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in forward deployed, deployment, solutions, or customer engineering (e.g., FDE leadership at Palantir, Field CTO role, or leading technical work with large enterprise customers).
  • Proven ability to still build and write production software recently, with a desire to continue doing so.
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers and enthusiasm for building a team from an early stage.
  • Comfort interacting with senior enterprise stakeholders, particularly in regulated or complex environments.
  • Good judgment regarding building for individual customers versus the platform, with the ability to push back on scope when necessary.
  • Excitement about integrating AI agents into high-stakes professional work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a Big 4 firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG) or a major consulting firm (Accenture, McKinsey, BCG, Bain).
  • Knowledge of audit, accounting, risk, or compliance.
  • Experience deploying LLM or agent-based systems in production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead important deployments yourself, owning technical delivery for large enterprise customers from scoping through production, including single-tenant and government-cloud environments, regulated data, and firm-specific audit methods.
  • Write production code, building agents, integrations, and tools alongside the team, and handling the most challenging technical problems.
  • Act as the senior technical voice with customers, serving as a trusted advisor to partners, CIOs, and audit leaders on the application of AI agents.
  • Build the FDE team by hiring, coaching, and growing strong engineers capable of both building and customer interaction, setting the standard through personal work.
  • Make deployment repeatable by translating learnings from hands-on work into playbooks, tools, and metrics to accelerate time-to-value for upmarket growth.
  • Identify patterns across deployments and collaborate with Product and Engineering to transform customer-specific solutions into reusable platform features.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation packages with meaningful ownership
  • Flexible PTO
  • 401k
  • Wellness benefits starting on your first day
  • Technology & Work from Home reimbursement
