  • Own the team’s roadmap, priorities, and delivery commitments while balancing new capabilities with reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Partner with technical leads and principal engineers to evaluate architectural tradeoffs, resolve technical risks, and guide service evolution.
  • Establish ownership and execution plans for complex projects, manage dependencies, and remove delivery obstacles.
  • Collaborate with network engineering, infrastructure delivery, operations, and adjacent software teams to align requirements and deliver capabilities across service boundaries.
  • Build a culture of production ownership through effective testing, observability, operational readiness, and safe rollout practices.
  • Lead operational performance, maintain sustainable on-call practices, and turn incident findings into lasting engineering improvements.
  • Hire and develop engineers through feedback, coaching, career planning, and thoughtful delegation.
  • Foster an inclusive environment where engineers can challenge assumptions, raise risks, and contribute to decisions.
  • Communicate progress, tradeoffs, and risks to engineering leadership and partner teams.
