About The Position

The Senior Manager, Category Management - Entertainment & Office is responsible for executing the end-to-end digital merchandising strategy for assigned categories. This role drives omnichannel performance by optimizing online assortment, availability, content, and member experience—ensuring digital execution reflects operational realities while delivering convenience, quality, and value to members. With a strong focus on accuracy, freshness perception, and fulfillment readiness, this role partners closely with Merchants, Operations, and Product to ensure seamless digital execution. About the team: The team leads category management for a complex product range, focusing on digital merchandising and strategic growth. It leverages analytics and negotiation strategies to optimize assortment, pricing, and inventory. Collaborating with cross-functional partners, the team enhances the online shopper experience and executes aligned business plans. It drives continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence while supporting professional development. The team ensures category financial targets are met and maintains strong relationships with suppliers and retailers to deliver value and a seamless customer experience.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in category management with strong analytical skills to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Experience managing complex category assortments, product sourcing, and inventory optimization across multiple channels.
  • Strong negotiation skills to establish strategic partnerships and secure favorable terms with suppliers and distributors.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with organizational goals and financial targets.
  • Proficiency in monitoring category performance metrics and implementing continuous improvements to enhance results.
  • Effective collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with marketing, merchandising, and operations teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, retail or related field and 4 years’ experience in business, retail or related field OR 6 years of experience in business, retail or related field

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing category management team, providing coaching and performance feedback.
  • Drive category strategy by analyzing market trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to optimize assortment and product mix.
  • Manage category financials, including budget oversight, margin improvement, and achievement of sales targets.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and ensure optimal distribution and pricing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, marketing, and supply chain teams to enhance customer experience.
  • Monitor category performance metrics and implement continuous improvements to drive growth and operational efficiency.
