About The Position

The Senior Business Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of an assigned Business Unit category, with full accountability for P&L delivery, strategic planning, and long-term value creation. This role balances near-term execution with long-term growth, integrating pricing, supply, operations, brand strategy, innovation, and analytics to deliver sustainable results. This role leads the Strategic Planning process for the business category and ensures execution of initiatives necessary to achieve sales, profit, EBIT, quality, brand, and customer objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of cost structures, capacity constraints, supply risks, and pricing levers to proactively manage trade-offs and enterprise impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • 6+ years of relevant and practical experience
  • Prior P&L ownership required.
  • Expert P&L and financial management capabilities
  • Advanced pricing strategy and margin optimization expertise
  • Strong strategic planning and portfolio management skills
  • Deep understanding of supply chain economics, cost structures, and operational trade-offs
  • Executive-level decision-making and influence skills
  • Communicates strategic, financial, and operational implications clearly to executive audiences.
  • Represents the category in senior leadership forums and governance processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to leverage advanced analytics and business intelligence tools for strategic decision-making

  • MBA or related Master's Degree Preferred
  • Prior experience with food manufacturing or CPG marketing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own full P&L accountability for an assigned category, ensuring delivery of Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Lead the Strategic Planning process for the assigned category, defining long-term growth, margin, and portfolio priorities.
  • Translate enterprise and business unit strategies into actionable category plans with clear financial and operational implications.
  • Set and govern pricing strategy for assigned categories within enterprise pricing frameworks.
  • Evaluate pricing effectiveness, competitive dynamics, and margin performance; authorize pricing actions to meet financial objectives.
  • Ensure portfolio decisions align with customer needs, brand strategy, operational capabilities, and financial targets.
  • Partner with R&D and Marketing to prioritize innovation initiatives that drive profitable growth.
  • Demonstrate expert understanding of operational capabilities, capacity, cost drivers, and supply chain constraints.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate category-level risks related to supply, capacity, inventory exposure, and pricing performance.
  • Shape category and innovation strategy using insights and analytics.
  • Lead portfolio optimization and growth prioritization.
  • Drive share growth through differentiated value propositions.
  • Provides functional leadership, coaching, and performance management for assigned team members.
