About The Position

Cubicle Fugitive is seeking a Senior Manager, Brand and Marketing Strategy to lead client work and manage a small team within a boutique brand, marketing, and web agency. This role focuses on serving professional services and B2B companies, building strong client relationships, and driving impactful projects that enhance client visibility, attract talent, and secure new business. The position is a hybrid role in Hamilton, requiring three days in the office and two days remote.

Requirements

  • Seven to ten years in brand, marketing, or communications strategy, with experience in an agency, consultancy, or in-house at a professional services firm.
  • Demonstrated ability to base strategic recommendations on research, interviews, competitive analysis, and a clear understanding of the client's business.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to identify the actual problem and notice what a brief omits.
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to quickly find information and navigate unfamiliar problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple clients and projects concurrently.
  • Calm and steady leadership capable of juggling priorities and maintaining an even approach.
  • Proven experience managing or mentoring people, with a track record of improving their performance.
  • Exceptional writing skills to produce clear positioning and prose from complex input.
  • Working knowledge of websites, SEO, content, and design sufficient to direct work credibly.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients on brand positioning strategy, client and competitive research, communications strategy and planning, and marketing and business development plans.
  • Translate strategies into visually appealing, functional, and easily searchable websites, campaigns, and plans, in collaboration with design and development teams.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, perform research, develop insights, and present findings to firm leadership.
  • Lead an agile team across website, marketing, communications, and SEO, setting direction, allocating work, upholding quality standards, providing feedback, and supporting team growth.
  • Manage formal reviews, advocate for training and resources, and ensure balanced workload distribution within the team.
  • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously, ensuring they stay on time and on budget.
  • Scope and estimate work, flag issues proactively, and ensure clients receive promised deliverables.
  • Direct design, development, and SEO work, possessing enough knowledge to evaluate quality and ask pertinent questions.
  • Effectively utilize AI for research, drafting, editing, and analysis, applying human judgment where necessary.
  • Contribute to business growth by shaping proposals and estimates, identifying client needs, monitoring competitors, and representing the firm at industry events.
