About The Position

The Senior Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for performing duties related to commercial, SBA and consumer loans; processes consumer, commercial, SBA and real estate loan payments and advances. Other duties include new account system maintenance to include manual boarding of loans. Ensures compliance with established Company policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Bank Secrecy Act in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Information Program, Right to Financial Privacy Act (state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and at least 5+ years of related experience and/or training; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Work related experience should consist of a loan servicing background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
• Work related experience and/or training must consist of an in-depth background in loan documentation and servicing. Must have extensive knowledge of SBA loan documentation and commercial loan documentation to include knowledge of SBA 7a & 504 loan programs.
• Intermediate knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, Bank operational policies and procedures, and the Bank’s products and services.
• Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
• Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
• Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
• Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
• Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
• Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the boarding process, resolves issues and discrepancies independently and responds to a variety of inquiries or problems in a timely manner.
• Prepares general ledger closing entries and reconcile all departmental general ledger accounts.
• Responsible for all processing functions including exception processing, data input, word processing and operation of specialized software programs and spreadsheets, including new loan call back.
• Responsible for the integrity of data entered into the system of record within departmental guidelines to mitigate operational risk.
• Responds to complex written and phone inquiries from customers and internal personnel regarding loans issues and requests in addition to responding to payoff demands.
• Performs research, analysis and resolution of various accounting entries, issues and variances.
• Reviews line advances, rate change notices and daily reconciliation.
• Follows set departmental procedures to receive satisfactory audit. Include audit considerations when assisting in the development of new tasks within functional area.
• Assists with the development and implementation of procedures for department workflow.
• Responsible for assisting, training and reviewing works of less experience loan servicing specialist.
