About The Position

Workway, a professional staffing firm, is recruiting a Senior Loan Processor for an established and reputable credit union. The role involves pre-qualifying borrowers, determining loan eligibility, processing mortgage loans, and helping ensure files satisfy investor and program requirements. The processor reviews borrower and property documentation, interprets DU/LPA findings, orders and reviews appraisals, and communicates with borrowers and other parties throughout the loan process. The position also supports Loan Representatives with loan decisions, file management, pricing, and system-related issues, and assists members in selecting appropriate loan programs.

Requirements

Associate’s degree or equivalent experience; two years of related experience may substitute for each year of education.
At least four years of FNMA/FHLMC mortgage processing or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of mortgage processing, PMI guidelines, and industry regulations.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
NMLS registration and a satisfactory federal-level background check are required.

Responsibilities

Pre-qualify borrowers and determine loan eligibility.
Process various loan types and interpret DU/LPA findings.
Review financial, income, credit, and property documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Communicate with borrowers, Loan Representatives, title companies, escrow partners, and third parties throughout the loan process.
Ensure loan files meet investor and program requirements.
Order and review appraisals.
Assist members in selecting the best loan program for their needs.
Support Loan Representatives with approvals, denials, file management, pricing, and system-related issues.
Stay current on investor guidelines, mortgage regulations, and loan products.
