Senior Loan Consultant
About The Position
The Loan Consultant I provides an exceptional customer experience while offering personal loan solutions. The position builds a customer base through sales, loan extensions, and merchant referrals. Success is based on customer experience, business generation, compliance, achievement of monthly goals, and accuracy. The role involves assisting customers in person and by phone, processing verifications and payments, supporting loan decisions and closings, handling collection-account activities, marketing branch products and services, and maintaining branch records and operations. The position works in an office environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- 0–2 years of consumer finance or related experience.
- Cash-handling, computer, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word applications.
Nice To Haves
- Associate or bachelor’s degree.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Responsibilities
- Greet, assist, and solicit individuals who visit the office or call by phone.
- Receive and process credit and employment verifications, and record information obtained.
- Process payments and distributions.
- Make recommendations regarding loan approvals and approve loans up to established lending limits.
- Complete loan closings.
- Handle collection-account activities, including phone calls and face-to-face customer communications.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and transaction documentation; record and file documentation.
- Operate the cash drawer, process bank deposits, maintain records and balances, and close the branch.
- Actively market all branch products and services to individuals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
