About The Position

The Loan Consultant I provides an exceptional customer experience while offering personal loan solutions. The role focuses on building a customer base through sales, loan extensions, and merchant referrals. Success is based on customer experience, business generation, compliance, achievement of monthly goals, and accuracy.

The position serves customers in the office and by phone, handles loan-related transactions and account activities, markets branch products and services, and supports branch reporting, cash handling, and closing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• 0–2 years of consumer finance or related experience.
• Cash-handling, computer, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word applications.

Nice To Haves

• Associate or bachelor’s degree.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and solicit individuals entering the office or calling by phone.
• Receive and process credit and employment verifications, and record the information obtained.
• Process payments and distributions and make recommendations regarding loan approvals.
• Approve loans up to established lending limits and complete loan closings.
• Handle account activities related to collection accounts, including phone calls and face-to-face communications with customers.
• Prepare reports, correspondence, and transaction documentation; record and file documentation.
• Operate the cash drawer, process bank deposits, maintain records and balances, and close the branch.
• Actively market all branch products and services to individuals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
