Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Real Estate, Finance or similar degrees is required.
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years experience working in health care operations in assisted living
  • Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD) in Minnesota required
  • Experience with assisted living, independent living, and senior healthcare is required
  • Ability to understand and effectively help facilitate change management process and manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Proven success leading teams and representing the entire company, including role modeling the culture, values, and expected behavior.
  • Comfort in ambiguity and ability to make sound choices in complex situations which balance the needs of the business and the employee.
  • Must be able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents, resident’s families, and employees.
  • Ability to use various Microsoft tools to manage projects, complete work and communicate with large teams.
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
  • Ability to travel throughout Minnesota.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) and/or Health Service Executive (HSE) is preferred.
  • Experience within skilled nursing is preferred.
  • Experience of working with owner groups preferred.
  • Multi-facility management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to Executive Directors and leadership teams in achieving company mission, values, goals, and objectives.
  • Foster an environment of goal achievement.
  • Work cooperatively with facility management staff and consultants in developing and working a business plan that focuses on all aspects of facility operations, including setting priorities and job assignments.
  • Monitor each facility’s financial performance, quality initiatives, and customer service programs.
  • Educate Executive Directors and other facility leadership on facility key performance metrics and operational analytics.
  • Evaluate Executive Directors’ performance, provide feedback, assist, and observe, coach and discipline as needed.
  • Develop an environment that allows for creative thinking, problem solving, and empowerment in the development of facility management team.
  • Oversee and conduct regular rounds to monitor overall operations delivery of nursing care, operation of support departments, cleanliness and appearance of the facility; morale of the staff; and ensure resident needs are being addressed.
  • Provide oversight of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs.
  • Identify areas of potential legal liability and develop and implement an administrative intervention or risk management program to minimize or eliminate exposure.
  • Exhibit positive customer service both to internal and external customers through the ongoing support and implementation of customer service initiatives and business objectives.
  • Utilize survey information to address areas of importance as defined by our customers.
  • Ensure consultants and other support resources are appropriately utilized, staff are appropriately trained, and a high level of interdepartmental teamwork is maintained.
  • Ensure the building and grounds are appropriately maintained and that equipment and work areas are clean, safe, and orderly, and any hazardous conditions are addressed.
  • Monitor Human Resources practices to ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies and to ensure practices that maintain high morale and staff retention include effective communication, prompt problem resolution, and all staff engagement practices maintaining a proactive work environment.
  • Develop positive relationships on behalf of the Company with government regulators, residents, families, area healthcare providers, physicians, and the community at large.
  • Direct the implementation of Government requirements, rules, and legislative initiatives.
  • Oversee adherence to facility commitments and business practices to include labor costs, payables, and receivables.
  • With facility leadership, develop and implement a marketing strategy for the facility that reflects service opportunities, competition, potential market area changes, and maximizes census, payer mix, and ancillary revenues.
