About The Position

We are looking for a Linux System Administrator to join a mission critical software development effort that provides automated and assisted data processing, analysis, and reporting to the customer. In this role, you will join an operations support team responsible for supporting the overall architecture/enterprise. For this position, you should be able to work independently, learn new tasks over time.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is required.
  • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional database administration experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree.
  • General Linux Experience, preferably with CentOS / RHEL
  • Experience w/ Puppet
  • Knowledge of RMF
  • Ability to run vulnerability scans, interpret results, identify false positives
  • Experience with Docker / Podman
  • Experience with automation (i.e bash scripting, Ansible playbooks, etc.)
  • Familiarity w/ git (i.e bitbucket, gitlab, etc.)
  • Willingness to work across various systems to provide assistance on an ad hoc basis
  • Experience with maintaining / troubleshooting virtual infrastructure (i.e VMware)
  • Experience managing DNS / DHCP / Actve Directory
  • Good communication skills (critical for being able to work with different teams / organizations to troubleshoot and find solutions).
  • Experience w/ Jira & Confluence and willing to document procedures
  • Experience w/ racking, cabling, and configuring servers
  • An active US Government TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NetApp or Dell storage would be nice but not crucial
  • Overall willingness to learn new technologies, be pulled into different projects, and provide troubleshooting on an ad hoc basis.
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with Python

Responsibilities

  • Perform Linux system administration
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshooting issues with Elastic products such as Grafana and Kibana
  • Work with Jira for workflow management (ticketing)
  • Use Confluence for documentation and artifact sharing
  • Provision virtual machine resources
  • Use TPAM for account management
  • Coordinate planned and unplanned outages
  • Work with the division wide lab for development and testing support
  • Review security scans, identify actions, and work with appropriate teams to take corrective action.
