Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager - Hunt

onXMinneapolis, MN
$113,000 - $142,000Remote

About The Position

onX is seeking a Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager to drive subscription growth for onX Hunt, focusing on Day 7 (D7) and Day 30 (D30) conversion, free-to-paid movement, and reactivation of lapsed users. This role is part of the Growth & Lifecycle Marketing team, supporting the goal of converting, retaining, and reactivating subscribers across onX's verticals. The ideal candidate will take ownership of their work, collaborate closely with partners, and thrive in an environment where priorities evolve and learning is encouraged. The role reports to the Manager of Growth and Lifecycle Marketing. The best lifecycle marketers at onX are data-driven, form hypotheses about user behavior, test them quickly, document learnings, and use these insights to drive revenue, potentially by building AI-powered systems. This role involves owning the lifecycle conversion funnel for onX Hunt, including D7 and D30 conversion, free-to-paid upgrades, and lapsed-user reactivation, with accountability for improving these metrics. The position requires self-serving insights from product analytics tools like Amplitude, synthesizing learnings into testable hypotheses, and applying propensity models and behavioral segmentation for targeted messaging. Running lifecycle marketing as a compounding experimentation program is key, with a focus on high-velocity cadence across email, push, and in-app messaging using platforms like Braze. The role also involves scaling personalized messaging to translate features into user value, partnering with product and engineering teams, and self-serving experiment analysis and results readouts. Cross-functional collaboration with finance, brand, growth marketing, and the Hunt vertical creative team is expected, including building creative briefs and assets in Figma. The use of AI tools like Claude is encouraged to automate campaign production and analysis, and to embed AI as a co-pilot in daily workflows. Mentoring junior lifecycle marketers on experimentation rigor and AI-enabled workflows is also a responsibility.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of lifecycle, CRM, retention, or growth marketing experience is required, with a background in consumer subscription or mobile app businesses.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • A strong experimentation track record: you've designed, run, analyzed, and documented A/B tests that produced measurable conversion or retention gains - and you can talk through your wins, your nulls, and what you learned from each.
  • A strong understanding of user behavior, with a demonstrated ability to generate insights in Amplitude (or similar product analytics tools) and synthesize them into hypotheses.
  • Working knowledge of propensity models and predictive targeting.
  • Proficiency with Braze (or a comparable CRM platform), Amplitude, Figma, and Claude or similar AI tools - and demonstrated proficiency using AI to develop new skills and workflows that scale your impact.
  • The ability to self-serve in analytics and experimentation results - you don't wait on an analyst to know how your programs are performing.
  • A strong curiosity for exploring new technologies, including AI
  • A shared passion for and ability to demonstrate onX’s Company Values.
  • Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX.
  • Ability to travel quarterly for multiple days to a corporate office or other onX strategic location, such as a Basecamp.

Nice To Haves

  • Genuine familiarity with hunting culture, or a personal passion for hunting and the outdoors - you understand the seasons, the preparation, and why an offline map matters at 6 a.m. in a dead zone.
  • Experience with Liquid templating (or similar) for dynamic personalization in Braze.
  • Experience partnering with data science teams to deploy propensity or churn models in production campaigns.
  • Experience optimizing trial-based subscription funnels and paywalls.

Responsibilities

  • Own the lifecycle conversion funnel for onX Hunt - D7 and D30 conversion, free-to-paid upgrade, and lapsed-user reactivation - and be accountable for moving those numbers.
  • Self-serve insights in Amplitude, synthesize learnings into clear, testable hypotheses, and apply propensity models and behavioral segmentation to reach the right user, at the right time, with the right message.
  • Run lifecycle as a compounding experimentation program: every test has a hypothesis, a clean measurement design (A/B, holdout, or validation test), and a documented outcome that feeds the next iteration - maintained at a high-velocity cadence across email, push, and in-app messaging in Braze.
  • Scale personalized messaging that translates features into value and outcomes - getting users to their aha moment faster so they convert with confidence - and partner with product, engineering, and BI to define the events and attributes that unlock personalization in Braze.
  • Self-serve your own experiment analysis and results readouts, communicating outcomes - including honest caveats and null results - to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Work cross-functionally with finance, brand and growth marketing, and the Hunt vertical creative team to align lifecycle programs with revenue goals, campaign windows, and creative standards; build creative briefs and lightweight assets in Figma.
  • Use AI (Claude and similar tools) to build repeatable skills, agents, and workflows that automate campaign production and analysis - scaling personalization well beyond what manual effort allows.
  • Look for opportunities to embed AI as a repeatable co-pilot in daily workflows by integrating experimentation into real work, and continuously refining its use with sound judgment and validation.
  • Mentor junior lifecycle marketers on experimentation rigor and AI-enabled workflows, and champion shared standards for how the team runs and documents tests.
