About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Senior Liaison Engineering Manager to lead integrated groups of supervisors, engineers and technical staff for Liaison Engineering, in support of Boeing operations in Puget Sound, WA. This role involves managing employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in Production Engineering. The position requires developing and executing integrated departmental plans, policies, and procedures, and providing input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives. The manager will acquire resources for department activities, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements. Additionally, they will develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports, and provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. The role also includes managing, developing, and motivating employees and first-level managers, promoting a safe and healthy work environment, and providing higher Material Review Board (MRB) functions. The Senior Liaison Engineering Manager will interface with Operations, Quality, Engineering, airline representatives, regulatory agencies, and suppliers/partners to resolve issues impacting airplane build, test, and delivery. They will staff and direct a technical team in establishing and executing group goals, manage budgets, monitor group performance, and develop technical employees. Collaboration with peer Senior Managers is expected for developing first-line managers and the Liaison Engineering Skill as part of the Senior Leadership Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a leader or manager in engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience providing technical leadership for an engineering team
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Liaison Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with external customers, and cross-functional value stream stakeholders to resolve complex issues
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
