About The Position

The Senior Technical Lead – Sales Engineering & Engineering Liaison serves as the organization’s primary technical authority supporting complex HVAC and engineered-product opportunities. This role partners closely with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to translate customer and OEM requirements into engineered, executable, and profitable solutions. This position is designed for an experienced professional with formal engineering education or equivalent technical experience, capable of handling ambiguity, influencing engineering decisions, and owning technically complex customer engagements from initial concept through post-sale resolution. Success in this role is measured by technical accuracy, margin protection, speed to resolution, and customer confidence in our engineered solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, or related) or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5+ years in Sales Engineering, Engineering, or technically complex manufacturing environments.
  • Strong HVAC and engineered-product knowledge.
  • Proven ability to translate technical complexity into executable solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting OEM HVAC accounts.
  • Experience in high-volume, low-structure manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with digital quoting and ERP-adjacent tools.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior technical resource for complex HVAC, OEM, and custom-engineered solutions.
  • Lead and review high-complexity quotes (e.g., curbs, SFBs, custom configurations) ensuring engineering feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Provide conceptual solutions and pricing where information is incomplete or evolving.
  • Act as the primary bridge between Sales and Engineering, ensuring clarity, alignment, and rapid issue resolution.
  • Partner with Engineering on customer-specific designs, technical exceptions, and non-standard requests.
  • Identify risks early and drive solution-oriented decisions across teams.
  • Support strategic OEMs and high-impact customer accounts as a technical advisor.
  • Participate in customer meetings, jobsite visits, and technical reviews as needed.
  • Protect margins through disciplined technical review and accurate scoping.
  • Support multi-million-dollar revenue streams through sound technical execution.
  • Lead complex troubleshooting and technical issue resolution post-sale.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.
  • Maintain discipline within CRM and quoting systems.
  • Help improve scalable technical and quoting processes across the sales organization.
