About The Position

The Senior Liability Claims Specialist manages mid- to complex Auto and/or General Liability claims, including bodily injury and property damage, with the aim of achieving optimal outcomes for CorVel and its clients. The role handles litigated files with delegated authority and follows company best practices. This is a remote position, with occasional travel of up to 5% potentially required.

Requirements

Five or more years of experience handling General Liability claims, including high-exposure and/or litigated claims.
Two or more years of experience handling Auto Liability claims.
Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and related experience.
Current Adjuster’s License in the state of operation is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to learn rapidly and develop knowledge and understanding of claims practice.
Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude, including ability to use Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets.
Strong interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills.
Ability to meet or exceed performance expectations.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Multi-State adjuster license is preferred.
Municipality experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Receive claims, confirm policy coverage, and acknowledge claims.
Determine claim validity and compensability.
Investigate claims and handle Auto and/or General Liability claims.
Establish reserves and authorize payments within reserving authority limits.
Communicate claim status with the customer, claimant, and client.
Adhere to client and carrier guidelines and participate in claims reviews as needed.
Collaborate with team members on more complex or problematic claims as necessary.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
