About The Position

The Senior Liability Claims Specialist manages mid- to complex-level Auto and/or General Liability claims, including bodily injury and property damage, with the goal of achieving optimal outcomes for CorVel and its clients. The role handles litigated files and works within delegated authority while following company best practices. This is a remote position with occasional travel of up to 5%.

Requirements

At least five years of experience handling General Liability claims, including high-exposure and/or litigated claims.
At least two years of experience handling Auto Liability claims.
Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and related experience.
Current Adjuster’s License in the state of operation is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to learn rapidly and develop knowledge and understanding of claims practice.
Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude, including ability to use Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets.
Strong interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills.
Ability to meet or exceed performance expectations.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Multi-State adjuster license preferred.
Municipality experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Receive claims, confirm policy coverage, and acknowledge claims.
Determine claim validity and compensability.
Investigate and handle Auto and/or General Liability claims.
Establish reserves and authorize payments within reserving authority limits.
Communicate claim status to customers, claimants, and clients.
Follow client and carrier guidelines and participate in claims reviews as needed.
Collaborate with team members on complex or problematic claims as necessary.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
