Senior Legal Implementation Specialist

LuminanceSan Francisco, CA
$100,000 - $130,000Hybrid

About The Position

Luminance is a pioneer in Contract Intelligence for enterprises, recognized by Forbes AI 50 and Inc. 5000. We are rapidly expanding globally, supporting enterprise customers in over 60 countries. As a Senior Legal Implementation Specialist, you will guide our most complex customers to confidently and independently use the Luminance platform, while also elevating the team's overall delivery standards. You will manage accounts with significant commercial value, broad scope, or demanding stakeholders, making independent judgment calls. Furthermore, you will influence the function's operations by establishing delivery patterns, coaching colleagues, and providing valuable feedback to the Product team.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of client-facing experience in legal tech or B2B SaaS (implementation, onboarding, professional services, delivery, or customer success), or significant relevant legal experience.
  • A track record of owning complex or high-value implementations end-to-end.
  • Fluency with contracts, negotiation positions, approval processes, and commercial workflows, with the confidence to interrogate a customer's process.
  • Proven judgment: ability to distinguish genuine requirements from product limitations and identify opportunities for better approaches, and to advocate for these positions with senior stakeholders.
  • Credibility with executive audiences, including General Counsel, Heads of Legal Operations, and procurement leadership.
  • Strong prioritization skills across a demanding portfolio, maintaining accuracy under pressure.
  • The ability to coach others and provide direct, constructive feedback.
  • Comfort setting direction in ambiguous situations, for yourself and for others.
  • Experience crafting effective prompts for AI systems and the ability to teach this skill.

Nice To Haves

  • Qualified lawyer, or in-house legal or legal operations experience.
  • Experience implementing enterprise software within legal, procurement, compliance, or commercial teams.
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management, legal operations, or legal technology.
  • Experience with multi-region or phased enterprise rollouts, or mentoring others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead implementations for complex, strategically significant or high-value customers, including multi-jurisdiction rollouts, bespoke requirements, and senior stakeholder scrutiny.
  • Own discovery processes where scope is broad or contested, converting competing objectives into a sequenced, deliverable plan.
  • Design configurations that are scalable and sustainable, making deliberate trade-offs and explaining them credibly.
  • Manage a portfolio of concurrent implementations against agreed timelines, milestones, and outcomes.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for delivery risks, providing recommendations rather than just identifying issues.
  • Lead challenging conversations, including resetting expectations, reframing requests that add unnecessary complexity, and recovering off-track implementations.
  • Coach colleagues and review their work against implementation standards, ensuring quality is maintained.
  • Define and improve the playbooks, configuration standards, and training assets used by the team.
  • Provide structured, evidence-based insights to the Product team, differentiating one-off requests from recurring customer needs.

Benefits

  • Bonus
  • Defined progression into Lead (management track) or Strategic (individual contributor) roles.
