About The Position

Boston University Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is seeking a qualified individual to join their Technology Experience & Community group as a Senior LETS Event Specialist on their AV live event and classroom support team. This role provides hands-on support for live, hybrid, and virtual events, including expert-level event production, sound reinforcement, and Zoom, Teams, and webinar delivery across all Boston University campuses. The specialist will also deliver advanced audiovisual (AV) support for classrooms and event spaces, ensuring reliable technology operations and high-quality user experiences. Responsibilities include advising management on emerging technologies, testing new solutions, serving on service or project teams as a Subject Matter Expert or Technical Lead, and interfacing with internal and external clients, university leadership, integrators, vendors, and partners.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience with AV and live event technology in a client support role.
  • Bachelor's degree required or master's preferred, or equivalent applicable experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift moderately heavy equipment (up to 75 pounds).
  • Ability to be on call during off hours.
  • Awareness of ADA/Section 508 accessibility concepts for live events and classrooms.
  • Expert-level live event setup, operation, and teardown including full event productions, sound reinforcement, and client consultation, plus convention center or large-venue live production expertise.
  • Advanced classroom AV support and configuration across a multi-building, city-like campus environment or similar large scale environment with break out spaces.
  • Enterprise collaboration with IT, Facilities, internal partners such as Academic Affairs, and external partners.
  • Zoom/Teams Webinars and Rooms: expert setup, configuration, advanced troubleshooting, and client training.
  • Livestreaming and encoding: OBS, vMix, Wirecast, hardware encoders, Kaltura, YouTube, Vimeo, Panopto, and multi-platform delivery.
  • Hybrid and virtual event architecture, design, and execution.
  • Familiarity with enterprise management software. (e.g., Crestron XIO or Fusion)
  • Working knowledge of digital signage solutions (e.g., Appspace).
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Demonstrated interest in leveraging AI tools, emerging technologies, and automation to continuously improve AV workflows and enhance operational effectiveness.
