Klaviyo•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

Klaviyo is seeking its first dedicated AI engineer within the Finance Technology (G&A FinTech) team. This foundational role will shape the architecture, standards, and long-term vision for embedding AI into Finance operations. The engineer will work across Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Procurement, and Internal Audit, as well as with Corporate IT, Data, and GTM Systems, to build a reliable, integrated, compliant finance technology environment suited to a public, AI-forward SaaS business. The team owns the roadmap, health, and governance of platforms such as ERP and financial systems, procure-to-pay, revenue and billing systems, integrations, and automation. The role focuses on reimagining finance workflows and building AI-powered workflows, copilots, and agents that automate or augment Finance processes. It includes designing systems that integrate across enterprise SaaS platforms; establishing practices for prompt engineering, evaluation, LLM system design, orchestration, versioning, testing, security, and observability; and identifying high-value opportunities to replace manual workflows. The engineer will define and track operational success metrics, advise Finance leadership on AI opportunities, and ensure sensitive financial data is handled securely and responsibly. The position also requires close collaboration with Security, Global IT, GTM Systems, Internal Audit, and Legal to align AI infrastructure and governance. The engineer will contribute to company-wide AI patterns and enable Finance teams through reusable frameworks, workflows, playbooks, and training materials. As a technical leader, this person will advocate for scalable, well-governed systems and help shape how Klaviyo becomes AI-first internally, starting with Finance.
