About The Position

Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Lead AI Finance Technology Engineer to serve as the first dedicated AI engineer on its Finance Technology team. This foundational technical leadership role will shape the architecture, standards, and long-term vision for embedding AI into Finance operations and help Klaviyo become an AI-first company. The role partners with Finance functions—including Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Procurement, and Internal Audit—and adjacent technology teams to ensure financial platforms are reliable, integrated, compliant, and ready to support a public, AI-forward SaaS business. Systems in scope include ERP and financial platforms such as NetSuite and Oracle, procure-to-pay systems such as Zip, revenue and billing platforms, and related integrations and automation. The engineer will reimagine Finance workflows, design and build AI-powered workflows, copilots, and agents, and establish reliable practices for LLM system design, evaluation, testing, security, versioning, and observability. They will identify opportunities to replace manual processes with AI-native solutions, define success metrics, advise Finance leaders, and ensure sensitive financial data is handled securely and responsibly. The role also contributes to shared AI infrastructure and standards, builds reusable frameworks and training resources, and helps non-technical Finance stakeholders confidently adopt AI-powered tools. The position may require up to 10% travel for onboarding, partner or client work where applicable, team meetings, and industry events. Travel is coordinated in advance. The stated U.S. base pay range is $180,000–$270,000. Total compensation may also include an annual cash bonus, equity, sign-on payments, and eligible health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits.
