Senior Java Developer
About The Position
Trident Consulting is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a client in Columbus, Ohio. This is an onsite, one-year W2 contract assignment with the possibility of extension, offering a rate of $50 per hour. The role requires 12–16 years of experience and mandatory skills in Java, microservices, AWS, databases, and Kafka. The position focuses on designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-scale applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka, and AWS. The developer will work on cloud-native, event-driven, scalable distributed systems in banking, financial services, and enterprise domains, and contribute across the software development lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, CI/CD, containerization, and cloud deployment. The technical environment includes Java 8/11/17/21; Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Cloud; RESTful APIs and GraphQL; Hibernate, JPA, and JDBC; OAuth2, JWT, and Spring Security; Kafka and Kafka Streams; AWS services; Docker and Kubernetes; CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools; relational and NoSQL databases; monitoring and logging tools; and Agile/Scrum practices. Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Developer Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, as well as Java-focused credentials such as Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer.
Requirements
- 12–16 years of experience.
- Mandatory skills: Java, microservices, AWS, database technologies, and Kafka.
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-scale applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka, and AWS Cloud.
- Experience with cloud-native, event-driven, highly scalable distributed systems.
- Experience across the software development lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, CI/CD, containerization, and cloud deployment.
