About The Position

Symbotic is seeking a hands-on Senior IT Specialist to be the primary IT point of contact for their new distribution center in Georgia. This role involves ensuring smooth and secure warehouse operations by collaborating with the IT Operations team. The position combines traditional helpdesk support, site infrastructure maintenance, and warehouse-specific technology management, supporting IT infrastructure across the warehouse floor, administrative offices, and leadership functions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of IT support experience, with multiple years supporting IT in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
  • Experience administering Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Azure.
  • Basic networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WiFi APs, SFPs, cabling standards.
  • Familiarity with label printing technology (Zebra is a plus).
  • Ability to work independently but also in collaboration with the entire IT Operations team.
  • Must be a self-starter who can prioritize tasks and proactively seek out opportunities for improvement/efficiency.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (servers, UPS units, printers).
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods on a concrete warehouse floor.
  • Ability to work in an air-conditioned room when needed supporting MDF infrastructure.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • Employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Ability to walk/stand for extended periods, climb stairs/ladders, and tolerate warehouse environmental conditions (temperature variations, noise, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain handheld mobile android devices (e.g., Zebra, Honeywell) and vehicle-mounted terminals.
  • Maintain a fleet of critical printers/label printers and office multi-function printers.
  • Act as a liaison between warehouse associates and the WMS Application Support Team, ensuring user issues are reported effectively, accurately, and resolved swiftly.
  • Provide hands-on support for WiFi APs, switches, firewalls, and IoT devices.
  • Coordinate fiber/cat6 cabling needs, manage patch panels, and ensure organized MDF/IDF cabinets.
  • Act as the local liaison for ISPs, low voltage cablers, and various IT vendors.
  • Conduct IT onboarding sessions with new hires, ensuring they understand IT processes and standards, and that their devices are operating as expected.
  • Collect, inventory, and wipe equipment for departing staff.
  • Triage hardware, software, and connectivity issues for office staff and warehouse associates (Windows, Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, etc.).
  • Review and update inventory records for all IT assets in the Georgia facility.
