About The Position

The Senior IT Portfolio Analyst plays a critical role within the IT PMO, responsible for managing and analyzing project, program, and portfolio financial data to support effective decision-making and ensure financial health across multiple initiatives. The incumbent heavily leverages Clarity PPM as the primary data source for financial information. The Senior IT Portfolio Analyst provides insightful reporting, forecasting, and analysis to project/program managers and senior leadership, contributing to the successful execution of projects and strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile) and project lifecycle phases
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency with Clarity PPM or similar project portfolio management tools.
  • 4 - 7 years of accounting or finance experience forecasting, variance analysis, or financial reporting, with cross‑functional stakeholder collaboration and compliance.
  • Understanding of project management and project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, and analyze project and portfolio budgets, forecasts, and expenditures within Clarity PPM.
  • Track financial performance against baselines, identify variances, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify cost drivers and efficiency opportunities.
  • Develop forecasting models incorporating resource utilization, project timelines, and market conditions.
  • Support the capitalization process for eligible project costs, plan accruals, and review financial documentation in enterprise systems.
  • Partner with IT Finance to support the build of the annual budget and ensure alignment between PPM and Oracle financial systems.
  • Reconcile discrepancies and maintain consistency across enterprise financial platforms.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive portfolio-level financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support executive decision-making.
  • Support annual planning and budgeting cycles for the project portfolio.
  • Manage the financials and resource allocations for a portfolio of steady state projects, ensuring operational continuity, cost optimization, and appropriate resource distribution across ongoing initiatives.
  • Monitor resource allocations and work to communicate and mitigate associated gaps and risks across the portfolio.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for Clarity PPM financial data, ensuring integrity and consistency.
  • Develop custom reports and dashboards to meet evolving business needs.
  • Ensure and drive PPM data integrity and accuracy for all IT projects through regular audits, data quality checks, and stakeholder education.
  • Establish and enforce data standards to maintain reliable portfolio information for decision-making.
  • Lookup, manage, and support Statements of Work (SOWs) and Purchase Orders (POs) for IT projects, ensuring proper documentation, tracking, and financial alignment within project budgets.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of PMO financial processes while ensuring adherence to financial policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
