Senior Internal Audit Manager

Everpure•Santa Clara, CA
•$168,000 - $252,000•Onsite

About The Position

Everpure is seeking a seasoned Senior Internal Audit Manager to join our Internal Audit team. In this senior individual contributor role, you will operate with significant autonomy and influence, leading our most complex and highest-visibility operational audits across the business and partnering directly with senior leaders to evaluate risk, strengthen processes, and shape how the business makes decisions. This position requires strong business acumen, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to independently manage complex audits from planning through reporting, while bringing a point of view that senior stakeholders seek out before decisions are made. The ideal candidate brings deep operational audit experience, business process and enterprise risk expertise, data analytics capabilities, and a passion for leveraging emerging technologies, including the use of AI embedded into audit activities to improve audit quality and efficiency. You hold yourself and the function to a standard of integrity that never bends to timeline pressure, and you escalate control or policy gaps with a proposed solution, not a workaround. Beyond executing audits, this role sets the agenda for its areas of coverage, drives durable remediation of systemic risks across the organization, serves as a sought-after voice before key decisions are made, and raises the standard for the broader audit function. This is NOT a SOX-focused role. Instead, the position emphasizes operational audits, business process and enterprise risk assessment, and strategic partnership across the organization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of internal audit, operational audit, risk advisory, or related experience focused on business operation processes including a track record of independently leading complex, high-visibility audits.
  • Track record of mentoring colleagues at multiple levels, contributing to hiring, and helping shape standards and practices for the broader function, not just coaching your immediate project team.
  • Deep understanding of business processes, enterprise and operational risk, risk assessment methodologies, and internal control concepts across diverse functional areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior leaders and drive alignment, change, and remediation across functions without formal authority.
  • Proven experience identifying systemic issues, performing root cause analysis, and driving sustainable remediation.
  • Experience conducting process walkthroughs, control testing, evidence evaluation, and audit reporting.
  • Proficiency using data analytics to support risk assessment, audit planning, testing, and insight generation.
  • Hands-on experience using AI, audit technologies, or other emerging technologies to improve audit effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to provide practical, risk-based advisory support beyond traditional assurance engagements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated track record of senior leaders adopting your recommendations and changing decisions as a result.
  • Experience supporting Internal Audit operations and improving audit processes, methodology, reporting, or functional capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CIA certification preferred.
  • CISA or other relevant professional certifications are a plus.
  • Experience within the technology industry and/or a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, ambiguous, and high-visibility operational audits and advisory engagements from planning through reporting, often spanning multiple functions, systems, or geographies, with full accountability for quality, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Set the risk assessment and audit agenda for your areas of coverage, determining scope, depth, priorities, and appropriate trade-offs.
  • Proactively identify untapped risks or improvement opportunities ahead of the audit plan, and pressure-test whether the function’s coverage and priorities are ambitious enough - not just execute against what’s already scoped.
  • Develop risk-based audit objectives, scope, and testing procedures aligned with business and organizational priorities.
  • Conduct process walkthroughs, control testing, data analysis, and evidence evaluation to assess the effectiveness of business processes and controls.
  • Identify systemic risks, control gaps, and process improvement opportunities; assess root cause and business impact; and develop practical recommendations.
  • Drive accountability for remediation of significant and systemic issues to sustainable resolution - regardless of where formal ownership sits - by building alignment across stakeholders, including where you do not have formal authority.
  • Prepare and present clear, concise audit reports that communicate findings, business impact, root causes, and recommended actions to senior stakeholders.
  • Leverage data analytics, predictive techniques, AI, and emerging technologies to enhance risk identification, audit coverage, insight, efficiency, and quality, while applying appropriate professional judgment and validation.
  • Build durable, repeatable solutions - through automation, standardized methodology, or AI-enabled approaches - that are adopted beyond your own engagements and continue to operate without requiring your ongoing involvement.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business and functional leaders, proactively bringing a risk, control, and process point of view into strategic initiatives and key business decisions before they are finalized - and being direct when you disagree with the course being taken.
  • Support Internal Audit operations and broader CFO organization initiatives, including planning, performance metrics, methodology for IA and Finance-org wide learning, capability building, and talent development.
  • Set a high standard for audit quality and professionalism and coach, mentor, and develop other auditors.
  • Manage multiple complex tasks effectively prioritizing competing demands while maintaining a high standard of quality, judgment, and attention to detail.
