Senior Internal Audit Manager

Pure Storage•Santa Clara, CA

About The Position

Everpure is seeking a seasoned Senior Internal Audit Manager for a senior individual contributor role on its Internal Audit team. The role operates with significant autonomy and influence, leading complex, high-visibility operational audits and advisory engagements across the business and partnering directly with senior leaders to evaluate risk, strengthen processes, and inform business decisions. It emphasizes operational audits, business process and enterprise risk assessment, and strategic partnership—not SOX-focused work. The successful candidate will set the audit agenda for their coverage areas, identify emerging risks and improvement opportunities, drive sustainable remediation of systemic issues, and provide trusted risk, control, and process advice before key decisions are finalized. The role also advances audit quality and capability through analytics, automation, AI-enabled approaches, methodology improvements, and the development of other auditors. This is primarily an in-office position based in the Santa Clara, California office, subject to Everpure’s policies and approved leave or travel.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of internal audit, operational audit, risk advisory, or related experience focused on business operational processes.
  • Track record of independently leading complex, high-visibility audits.
  • Experience mentoring colleagues at multiple levels, contributing to hiring, and shaping standards and practices for the broader function.
  • Deep understanding of business processes, enterprise and operational risk, risk assessment methodologies, and internal control concepts across diverse functional areas.
  • Ability to influence and partner with senior leaders and drive alignment, change, and remediation across functions without formal authority.
  • Experience identifying systemic issues, conducting root cause analysis, and driving sustainable remediation.
  • Experience conducting process walkthroughs, control testing, evidence evaluation, and audit reporting.
  • Proficiency using data analytics for risk assessment, audit planning, testing, and insight generation.
  • Hands-on experience using AI, audit technologies, or other emerging technologies to improve audit effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to provide practical, risk-based advisory support beyond traditional assurance engagements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a record of senior leaders adopting recommendations and changing decisions as a result.
  • Experience supporting Internal Audit operations and improving audit processes, methodology, reporting, or functional capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CIA certification preferred.
  • CISA or another relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • Experience in the technology industry and/or at a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, ambiguous, high-visibility operational audits and advisory engagements from planning through reporting, with accountability for quality, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Set risk assessments and the audit agenda for assigned coverage areas, including scope, depth, priorities, and trade-offs.
  • Identify risks and improvement opportunities ahead of the audit plan and assess whether coverage and priorities are sufficiently ambitious.
  • Develop risk-based audit objectives, scopes, and testing procedures aligned with business and organizational priorities.
  • Conduct process walkthroughs, control testing, data analysis, and evidence evaluation to assess business processes and controls.
  • Identify systemic risks, control gaps, and process improvement opportunities; assess root causes and business impact; and develop practical recommendations.
  • Drive accountability for significant and systemic issues through sustainable remediation, building stakeholder alignment even without formal authority.
  • Prepare and present clear audit reports communicating findings, business impact, root causes, and recommended actions to senior stakeholders.
  • Use data analytics, predictive techniques, AI, and emerging technologies to improve risk identification, coverage, insight, efficiency, and quality, with appropriate professional judgment and validation.
  • Develop durable, repeatable solutions using automation, standardized methodology, or AI-enabled approaches that are adopted beyond individual engagements.
  • Advise business and functional leaders on risk, controls, and processes in strategic initiatives and key decisions, including directly expressing disagreement when appropriate.
  • Support Internal Audit operations and broader CFO organization initiatives, including planning, performance metrics, methodology, learning, capability building, and talent development.
  • Set a high standard for audit quality and professionalism; coach, mentor, and develop other auditors.
  • Manage competing demands and multiple complex tasks while maintaining quality, judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Work from the Santa Clara, California office in accordance with Everpure’s primarily in-office policy, except during PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
