About The Position

The Senior Industrial Power Systems Engineer works in BorgWarner’s Corporate Advanced Engineering team, part of the Chief Technology Officer organization at the Auburn Hills Propulsion Technology Center. The role focuses on conceiving, developing, implementing, and evaluating technologies for bringing power into facilities, including transformers and power conversion technologies. The team pursues longer-term growth areas through system-oriented development and collaboration with BorgWarner business units and external technology partners. The position serves as a technical leader and individual contributor in industrial power systems, generation, conversion, and storage. It involves architecting power delivery solutions for large facilities, such as datacenters; conducting simulation analysis and physical testing; and guiding advanced development from ideation through proof of concept. The engineer also evaluates emerging technologies, assesses technical risks, analyzes global trends, and communicates findings to senior management and customers. Occasional overnight domestic and international travel is required.
