About The Position

Phillips Lytle is seeking to expand its Immigration Practice by hiring a senior attorney in Chicago. This role will support a national practice and requires extensive experience in handling complex visa and permanent residency applications for U.S. companies and their foreign national workforce. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, written, and oral skills, a deep understanding of U.S. immigration laws, and the ability to manage client deliverables, prepare foreign nationals for interviews, respond to audits, provide I-9 guidance, handle federal administrative court matters, resolve border issues, and prepare relevant filings. Requirements

  • Eight or more years of experience in immigration law.
  • Experience handling the complexities of visa and permanent residency applications.
  • Experience with employment-based green cards, employment-based non-immigrant visas, H-1Bs, L-1s, O-1s, E-1, E-2, E-3, and matters arising under the U.S. Mexico-Canada America (USMCA) Free Trade Agreement (TNs) or other laws governing ports of entry to the United States.
  • Superior written, oral, and analytic abilities.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to provide advisory and other services.
  • Ability to manage client deliverables.
  • Ability to prepare foreign nationals for visa and consulate interviews.
  • Ability to respond to audits.
  • Ability to provide I-9 guidance.
  • Ability to deal with federal administrative court matters.
  • Ability to resolve border problems.
  • Ability to prepare relevant filings.
