About The Position

A high-volume, fast-paced immigration law firm is seeking an Immigration Attorney with at least three years of experience in immigration law. The position is available on a full-time or contract basis, depending on the candidate’s availability and background. The role is an opportunity to help individuals and families navigate the U.S. immigration process.

The attorney prepares and files a variety of immigration petitions and applications, stays current on immigration laws and regulations, communicates with clients to gather documents and provide updates, and prepares for and represents clients at interviews or appointments before relevant agencies and immigration courts. Court appearances are non-litigation only.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active bar license in Virginia or Maryland, in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in immigration law.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage case deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Technological proficiency, including experience with immigration law platforms and case management systems.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual skills, especially Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file family-based and employment-based petitions; Adjustment of Status applications; naturalization and citizenship applications; NACARA, TPS, asylum, and waiver applications; immigrant and non-immigrant visa applications; and PERM, EB-5, and H-1B filings.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration laws and regulations.
• Communicate with clients to gather documentation and provide updates.
• Prepare for and represent clients in interviews or appointments before USCIS, ICE, CBP, and Immigration Courts, limited to non-litigation appearances.
