Senior Identity Security Engineer - Microsoft Entra & AD (Costa Rica)
About The Position
MajorKey Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Identity Security Engineer to lead the technical delivery of Active Directory (AD) migration, consolidation, and identity modernization projects for enterprise customers. This individual will serve as the primary technical lead responsible for technical execution and mentoring delivery resources throughout the engagement lifecycle. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Active Directory and hybrid identity environments, strong experience with Microsoft Idexecution and (MIM), and working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID / Azure identity technologies. The ideal candidate combines deep Microsoft identity expertise with strong consulting and leadership capabilities. They should be comfortable driving technical discussions with enterprise customers, mentoring engineers, and owning complex identity transformation initiatives from discovery through delivery. This is a remote role based in Costa Rica. Applicants must currently reside in Costa Rica.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience with Active Directory administration, engineering, and design.
- Strong experience with AD migration, consolidation, and restructuring initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM), including synchronization and identity lifecycle management concepts.
- Experience with hybrid identity solutions including Microsoft Entra ID, Entra Connect / Azure AD Connect, Entra Cloud Sync, and federation technologies.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
- Experience with AD migration tools such as ADMT, Quest Migration Manager, ForensiT, or similar enterprise migration platforms.
- Solid understanding of Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and authentication protocols.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and client-facing consulting skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in enterprise consulting or professional services environments.
- Azure infrastructure and cloud architecture experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID Governance and identity governance concepts.
- Microsoft certifications such as SC-300, AZ-500, AZ-305, or legacy MCSE certifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery for Active Directory migration and consolidation projects.
- Translate architectural designs into actionable workstreams and implementation tasks.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues and delivery risks.
- Validate technical deliverables to ensure alignment with best practices and project objectives.
- Assist in assessing existing identity and infrastructure environments.
- Validate and refine proposed migration and modernization strategies.
- Lead or support implementations involving Active Directory, Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM), Microsoft Entra ID, Entra Connect, Entra Cloud Sync, and federation technologies.
- Develop and guide automation efforts using PowerShell and related tooling.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customer stakeholders.
- Partner with Project Managers to align delivery timelines, milestones, and risks.
- Lead multiple concurrent client engagements depending on project size and complexity.
- Provide technical oversight and mentoring for junior consulting resources.
- Identify and escalate project risks early with proposed mitigation strategies.
- Balance technical best practices with practical business outcomes and delivery timelines.
