About The Position
American Residential Services (ARS), the nation’s largest provider of residential HVAC, heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical services, is hiring a skilled Residential HVAC Service Technician. The company has more than 7,000 team members and over 45 years of experience delivering home comfort solutions. The technician diagnoses, troubleshoots, services, and repairs residential heating and air conditioning systems, helping homeowners through HVAC repair, maintenance, and system diagnostics. The role pays $32–$38 per hour, with a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 based on experience. Schedule options include five days with rotating weekends, four days with rotating weekends, or weekends only. The position offers full-time, year-round work and consistent work with opportunities to grow in the residential HVAC industry. No on-call work is indicated in the job title.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of residential HVAC experience.
- EPA certification or ability to obtain it.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Ability to work in attics and crawlspaces and lift heavy HVAC equipment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, heat pumps, and air conditioning units.
- Perform HVAC repairs, service calls, and preventative maintenance.
- Identify system issues and recommend appropriate heating and air conditioning solutions.
- Ensure HVAC service work meets company standards and local code requirements.
- Communicate clearly with homeowners about system performance and recommended repairs.
- Provide professional customer service while completing HVAC service and repair work.
