About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join the Gastroenterology team at the Marshfield Medical Center – Dickinson outpatient clinic and surgery center in Marquette, Michigan. The position has no call requirement and is scheduled for 40 hours per week, with an annual requirement of 1,720 hours. Additional compensation is available for shifts worked beyond a 1.0 FTE. Annual compensation is $245,000 upon completing the required shifts for 1.0 FTE. A $100,000 retention incentive is payable for remaining at 1.0 FTE for five years, subject to a contractual agreement.

The CRNA administers anesthesia or sedation for surgical and non-surgical procedures; develops and conducts pre-anesthetic plans; writes orders before, during, and after procedures; collaborates with providers; communicates with patients, families, and the care team; evaluates and orders diagnostic tests as needed; and monitors patients, including hemodynamic status, to adjust the anesthesia plan. The role requires providing care responsive to the growth and development needs of all client populations.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school for nurse anesthetists.
• Hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a current Michigan Registered Nurse license or Nurse Compact License.
• Obtain American Association of Nurse Anesthetists certification before the start date.
• Obtain and maintain appropriate privileges through the Security Health Plan credentialing process and any required hospital or other institutional credentialing.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
• Obtain and maintain Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) certification to work independently in Marquette.
• Hold a Bachelor of Science degree from an approved and accredited educational program in the specific area of advanced practice.
• Maintain current, unencumbered CRNA licensure from the applicable State Board of Nursing or required multi-state licensure privileges.
• Maintain CRNA certification through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

• A master's degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).
• Membership in good standing in the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) is encouraged.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is listed as preferred in the general qualifications.

Responsibilities
