About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida. We are seeking to hire a Senior Human Services Program Specialist who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team based work environment. This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Recipient and Provider Assistance (RPA). This is a highly responsible position in the Jacksonville Medicaid Field Office, within the Bureau for Recipient and Provider Assistance, within the Division of Medicaid, Agency for Health Care Administration. This Medicaid Field Office also houses the Medicaid Complaint Operations Center and Medicaid Fair Hearings Coordination Unit. This position is responsible for researching and responding to Medicaid issues, concerns, and complaints, as well as providing technical assistance to help recipients and providers understand Medicaid coverage policy and assure that recipients receive proper care as set forth in State Statutes, rules, policies, and Code of Federal Regulations. This position is not a remote or telework position.

Requirements

Two years of experience providing a professional level of customer service in a fast-paced consumer centric environment.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Ability to determine work priorities, assign work and ensure proper completion of work assignments
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to investigate, analyze and resolve complaints
Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written material
Ability to provide training to providers, coworkers, and community agencies
Ability to review and evaluate plans and programs
Ability to solve problems and make decisions in a timely manner
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Ability to use databases
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently
Ability to travel with or without accommodation

Nice To Haves

Moderate to extensive experience and abilities using different computer programs such as Excel, Outlook, and Word, etc., including quick and accurate typing/keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinates with Medicaid recipients, providers, policy staff, plan management staff, and Statewide Medicaid Managed Care (SMMC) plans as needed to research and resolve assigned Medicaid managed care issues.
Receives, researches, and responds to special assignments regarding questions and priority issues on behalf of Medicaid recipients and providers.
Contacts constituent to obtain information.
Researches, resolves, and responds to issues, making appropriate referrals as needed.
Completes assessments of newly assigned issues in the complaint module to confirm issues were entered correctly.
Represents the Agency on government and community partnerships, community outreach events, and Secret Shopper assignments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
