About The Position

Chewy is seeking meticulous and detailed Transitioning Military Service Members to join our Fulfillment Center (FC) Human Resources team as a Senior Human Resource Administrator. This role provides a clear pathway to translate military skills in personnel support, accountability, standards enforcement, and people care into a civilian HR career. Human Resource Administrators are essential to mission success, serving as the first line of support for Team Members and leaders to ensure the workforce is informed, supported, and ready to execute.

Requirements

  • Military experience in administrative, personnel, training, or leadership support roles (e.g., S1/Admin, Personnel Specialist, Yeoman, Training NCO, Platoon or Company-level admin support).
  • 1–3 years of experience performing administrative, personnel, or human resources–related duties (military or civilian).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain policies clearly and professionally.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, operational environment with competing priorities.
  • Digital literacy and the ability to learn HR systems (e.g., HRIS, timekeeping, payroll systems).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-focused mission.
  • Flexibility to work NIGHTS and/or WEEKENDS as required by Fulfillment Center operations.

  • Prior experience supporting personnel actions, counseling documentation, or compliance audits.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for Fulfillment Center Team Members regarding Human Resources questions.
  • Coordinate all new hire and in-processing activities, including communication, on-site preparation, orientation scheduling, and onboarding support.
  • Conduct new employee orientations to ensure Team Members understand benefits, policies, procedures, and workplace expectations.
  • Complete and audit employment documentation, including I-9s, background checks, and drug screenings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Track attendance, process timekeeping corrections, payroll adjustments, and shift changes to maintain accountability and accurate records.
  • Maintain employee files and conduct routine audits, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to company and legal standards.
  • Draft, revise, and proofread HR-related documents, policies, and communications as directed.
  • Communicate information clearly and consistently using multiple channels such as email, phone, and posted notices.
  • Support HR Business Partners and site leadership with administrative tasks, reporting, and HR initiatives.
  • Assist with planning and execution of HR events, engagement activities, and office programs that support morale and culture.
