About The Position

The position serves as a primary HR contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and employee-related issues while exercising strong judgment and escalating complex matters when needed. It manages end‑to‑end employee lifecycle processes—including onboarding, internal moves, leaves, accommodations, and offboarding—and ensures accurate preparation and maintenance of employment documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a generalist or senior coordinator role.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. and/or Canadian employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday or similar) and strong data management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting multi‑state, multi‑province, or geographically dispersed workforces.
  • Experience with compliance audits, benefits administration, and leave management.
  • Demonstrated involvement in HR process improvement or system implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and employee-related matters; apply sound judgment and escalate complex issues as appropriate.
  • Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, internal transfers, leaves of absence, accommodations, and offboarding.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain employment documentation such as offer letters, contracts, employment verifications, policy acknowledgments, and status change records.
  • Support and participate in employee relations activities, including investigations, conflict resolution, documentation, and policy interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant employee records in HRIS and personnel files; conduct audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to support recruitment activities, including job postings, interview coordination, reference checks, offer preparation, and pre-employment screening.
  • Coordinate onboarding processes to ensure timely completion of documentation, system access, orientation, background checks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Administer background checks, drug and alcohol testing programs, driver qualification files, and other credentialing requirements, as applicable by region.
  • Manage contingent workforce administration, including contractor onboarding and offboarding and coordination with vendors, as applicable.
  • Prepare and distribute employee communications related to HR programs, policies, and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local employment laws, internal policies, and record retention requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits, compliance reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate HR meetings, training sessions, and employee engagement or recognition activities.
  • Serve as system administrator for assigned HR-related systems and programs, including employee travel and expense credit card administration.
  • Partner with HR leadership on projects, analysis, and the implementation of regional or enterprise HR initiatives.
