About The Position

We are looking for a hands-on full-stack engineering lead to lead a small development team and own the technical roadmap, architecture, and delivery of applications built on the company’s AI platform. The role involves building web experiences that help users in different roles accomplish work with AI, across workflows such as initiating tasks, providing context, reviewing AI-generated results, making decisions, and monitoring progress. Applications connect to backend APIs that expose business logic and AI platform capabilities.

Working closely with product leaders, designers, domain experts, and platform engineers, the lead translates business needs into intuitive, reliable applications. The role combines team leadership, technical direction, and coaching with substantial hands-on frontend and application-backend development. The position also encompasses production-quality AI experiences, application architecture, delivery, testing, observability, and ongoing improvement.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial experience building production web applications.
• Experience owning a technical roadmap and/or leading a development team to deliver applications across frontend and backend integrations.
• Hands-on experience building AI-powered applications and integrating LLM or agent capabilities into user-facing workflows.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript and frontend frameworks such as Vue and React.
• Experience designing web application architecture, including reusable components, application state, routing, and data fetching.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and asynchronous services, including streaming updates and long-running tasks.
• Practical understanding of LLM application patterns, including conversational interfaces, structured outputs, retrieval-augmented generation, and human review.
• Strong understanding of web performance, responsive design, and accessibility.
• Ability to turn ambiguous business needs into clear user journeys, technical plans, and delivery milestones.
• Strong architectural judgment and clear communication of technical tradeoffs.
• Experience collaborating closely with product managers, designers, domain experts, and platform engineers.
• A practical approach to balancing rapid experimentation with application quality and production reliability.
• Comfort taking ownership in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the application roadmap and delivery by translating customer needs, business scenarios, and persona requirements into technical priorities and achievable milestones, and leading delivery from prototypes through production releases and ongoing improvement.
• Develop responsive, accessible web interfaces tailored to different user roles and workflows, making AI interactions understandable for input, progress tracking, output review, correction, and approval.
• Integrate web experiences with backend APIs exposing business logic, enterprise data, and AI services; collaborate on API contracts and build application services as needed to support complete user journeys.
• Evolve frontend-backend application patterns, including component boundaries, state management, and integration approaches, to support maintainability, reuse, performance, and reliability.
• Deliver production-quality AI experiences that handle streaming responses, long-running operations, incomplete results, and failures gracefully; establish testing, observability, and evaluation practices to measure reliability, AI output quality, and user success.
• Lead a small development team by setting technical direction, coordinating delivery, coaching developers, and maintaining engineering quality while writing and reviewing production code.
• Partner with product, design, domain, platform, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver enterprise-ready applications.
