About The Position

Grafana Labs is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer for its Grafana Analytics team, a startup-like, autonomous group building general data analytics capabilities. The team aims to make Grafana a place where people and AI agents can understand and act on enterprise data, including through AI-driven product analytics and sales data features that surface meaningful signals from messy datasets. The engineer will design, develop, test, and ship AI-powered features for working with large datasets and expand analytics-focused AI agents’ information-retrieval capabilities. The role involves building user-facing experiences, rapidly prototyping and validating ideas with users, and owning solutions through production with attention to scalability, maintainability, and real user workflows. The team works with substantial autonomy and expects engineers to take initiative, communicate across teams, and contribute to product decisions. The role is remote in the USA.

Requirements

  • Track record of building user-facing experiences that balance utility with delighting users.
  • Experience with LLMs, context engineering, and building applications powered by generative AI.
  • Proven track record of delivering software that reached production and is actively used by users.
  • Exposure to cloud-native environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience using observability tools to understand and troubleshoot system behavior.
  • Strong software engineering skills and experience building production-grade, user-facing systems.
  • Ability to work independently on complex engineering problems and make UI design decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Product mindset and ability to understand user problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Comfort with releasing prototypes, gathering feedback, and iterating pragmatically.
  • Initiative, ownership, ability to work with ambiguity, and ability to define scope when requirements are loosely defined.
  • Effective communication, openness to feedback, and a collaborative, solutions-oriented attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building or working with agent frameworks or multi-agent workflows.
  • Experience as a data analyst or working with data platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, or DataBricks.
  • Experience building tools for data engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deliver high-performance, full-stack user experiences that help users discover, organize, and optimize access to large datasets.
  • Rapidly prototype, test, and validate ideas with real users, including shipping and evolving LLM- or agent-powered workflows for the data engineering lifecycle.
  • Collaborate on AI-driven product features, including integrating agentic components with internal tools such as Slack and alerting systems, and work with internal data teams for dogfooding.
  • Use AI and automation tools to enhance product functionality and personal development workflows.
  • Communicate effectively and contribute across teams in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
  • Take ownership of AI solutions and ensure they are innovative, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with real user workflows.

Benefits

  • Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
  • Global annual leave policy of 30 days per annum, including 3 Grafana Shutdown Days, subject to local legislation.
  • In-person onboarding.
