About The Position

Our client, an established company in the regulated iGaming industry, is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer for a 100% remote, full-time B2B/contractor role based in Malta. This is a hands-on senior individual contributor position with end-to-end ownership of features, from concept through production.

The role combines PHP/Laravel, React/TypeScript, and browser-based game development. AI tools are an integral part of the development workflow: the developer is expected to use them effectively while critically reviewing, testing, and validating generated code before it reaches production.

The position offers the opportunity to work on a regulated, real-money iGaming product in a modern development environment where AI-assisted engineering is part of daily work.

Requirements

• Several years of senior-level software development experience.
• Proven ownership of production features from start to finish.
• Strong hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel.
• Strong experience with React and TypeScript.
• Production experience with MySQL and Redis.
• Experience with GCP or an equivalent cloud platform, including containers, managed databases, secrets, and IAM.
• Comfort reading and working with Terraform.
• Experience working within large or multi-service codebases.
• AI-assisted development is already a meaningful part of the candidate's day-to-day workflow.
• Strong understanding of how to review, test, and validate AI-generated code rather than relying on generated output without verification.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of complex technical problems.
• Curious, collaborative, and pragmatic approach to software development.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with PixiJS, Three.js, or similar WebGL/canvas technologies.
• Previous experience in iGaming or another regulated, real-money environment; this is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver full-stack features end-to-end, including backend APIs, frontend development, databases, and deployment.
• Build and maintain backend functionality using PHP and Laravel.
• Develop frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
• Work with browser-based and canvas games using PixiJS, Three.js, or equivalent WebGL frameworks.
• Work with MySQL and Redis in a production environment.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and contribute to a multi-service architecture.
• Investigate production issues independently, tracing logs and symptoms to identify root causes.
• Translate acquisition, retention, and product requirements into reliable features for a regulated, real-money environment.
• Work with cloud infrastructure, including GCP services, Docker, and Terraform.
• Use AI development tools and agents for tasks such as scaffolding, refactoring, and navigating unfamiliar codebases.
• Review and validate AI-generated code to ensure it meets the same standards as manually written code.
• Maintain clean, tested, and maintainable code while continuously improving code quality.
• Keep technical and service documentation accurate and up to date.
• Use AI tools efficiently, with attention to prompt scope and cost control.
