Senior Fluids Analyst, Combustion Devices

Relativity Space•Colorado, USA, CO
•$132,000 - $198,000

About The Position

The Senior Fluids Analyst will contribute to the design and qualification of combustion-device hardware, including injectors, thrust chambers, heat exchangers, and igniters, using computational fluid dynamics analysis. The role includes reviewing test and flight data as needed to evaluate and anchor models, and working with hardware designers to apply thermofluid expertise to design decisions. The analyst will also develop and recommend analysis approaches that may reduce design iteration time. Relativity Space emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and execution. The position is part of the Propulsion team, which develops and delivers high-performance, manufacturable engines for Terran R. Engineers own their parts through design, production, qualification, and flight. As the vehicle enters qualification, the team is also exploring engine modifications, including thrust upgrades, new cycles, and designs for mass production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering field.
  • At least 5 years of experience performing computational fluid dynamics analyses; employment, internships, and project experience count.
  • Familiarity with typical analysis steps, including pre-processing, post-processing, meshing, and boundary conditions.
  • Experience with basic engineering scripting in Python, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Strong background in fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
  • Commitment to accountability, collaboration, and execution.
