About The Position

The Senior Financial Process & Systems Analyst will be responsible for providing day-to-day production support for finance related projects, process-improvement initiatives, and financial systems (in coordination and partnership with IT). You will play a lead role in the enhancement and potential integration of existing financial systems. You will review existing finance processes and with your strong finance, accounting, and technology background, recommend and lead initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Requirements

Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Accounting Information Systems.
Eight (8) years of previous experience
Demonstrated knowledge of finance and accounting processes and systems.
Strong project management skills, including effective time management and prioritization abilities.
Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to effectively listen, understand issues, and verbalize and visualize concepts.
Strong experience with ERP, expense management, and other financial systems
Ability to identify and priorities areas of high risk
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Highly advanced MS Excel skills, including Power Query and Visual Basic (VBA)
Experience with Business Intelligence tools, including Microsoft PowerBI and IBM Cognos
Proficiency in MS Office and tools such as Word, Outlook, etc.
Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada

Nice To Haves

Experience with Microsoft Business Central and SAP Concur an asset
Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset

Responsibilities

Representing the Finance department, participate in development and integration projects involving financial and other business processes and systems
Document existing processes within the Finance department, recommend improvements, and lead or support project initiatives as required.
Identify opportunities for process automation and assist users with adoption.
Conduct training sessions on new functionality and processes; ensure cross-training across finance team members.
Identify opportunities to use existing financial data sources to better develop management and other reporting
Facilitate data stewardship within the Finance department by documenting data sources, identifying and addressing data quality issues, and ensuring data governance processes are being followed.
Analyze and document current and future state financial processes and systems architectures (in partnership with IT team). Design and manage change management processes that involve finance process changes and transitions.
Understand the linkages between financial systems and communicate the impact of changes with all stakeholders.
Evaluate existing application features to ensure they are fully leveraged to meet business needs and identify opportunities to implement advanced features.
Identify and recommend application and process changes based on finance business requirements and system interdependencies. Gather and document business requirements and translate those to functional and non-functional requirements.
Summarize technical designs and changes to a non-technical audience. Collaborate with cross-functional linked teams through the project lifecycle.
