About The Position

The Senior Financial Analyst joins Finance Operations at a high-growth, newly public energy and infrastructure company undertaking a multi-billion-dollar capital program. The role supports finance systems implementation, project finance modeling, and finance process transformation as the company invests in large-scale power generation, data center, and real estate development projects. It helps establish systems, model inputs, and processes to track uses of funds and put finance best practices in place. The position reports to the VP, Finance Operations and works closely with FP&A, Accounting, Project Controls, Procurement, Treasury, Technology/IT, and the external system installer team. The analyst will help improve finance processes, communicate financial insights to non-finance audiences, and deliver accurate work under close deadlines. The role supports the evolution of finance software, business processes, modeling standards, and shared services. It also contributes to Oracle Fusion and Unifier implementation work, including requirements, design, configuration reviews, data conversion, testing, defect tracking, reporting, and user training. Project finance responsibilities include supporting cost, cash-flow, and capital-requirement inputs; analyzing capex variances; contributing to budgets and forecasts; and preparing materials for investment committees, the Board, and lenders.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of corporate finance, FP&A, accounting, or finance systems experience, including at least one ERP or EPM implementation, upgrade, or major process change.
  • Strong Excel modeling skills, including building model components with clear drivers, documented assumptions, scenarios, and error checks without relying on a dedicated planning tool; experience with pivot tables and lookups is expected, and Power Query is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP and/or EPM/planning system such as Oracle Fusion, Hyperion/EPM, Adaptive Planning, SAP, or similar; implementation-side experience in design, testing, or data conversion is preferred in the requirement.
  • Demonstrated adeptness using AI-based tools to manage, compile, and explain data and tell the story behind the numbers.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including clear verbal and PowerPoint presentations to non-finance audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under close deadlines.
  • Ability to break projects into scope, workstreams, milestones, and dependencies, with a clear owner and date for each deliverable.
  • Ability to track progress against a plan, identify slippage early, and adjust to keep projects on schedule and budget.
  • Ability to maintain a log of risks, issues, and decisions, escalate early, and drive items to closure.
  • Ability to run working sessions, align Finance, Operations, and IT, and provide leadership with short, clear status updates.
  • Process mindset, including documenting current workflows, identifying gaps and manual steps, and proposing practical fixes.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated work style, including self-review and review of others' work to catch errors early.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on Oracle Fusion and Oracle Primavera Unifier experience, including Fusion Projects, Payables, GL, and Supply Chain (inventory controls); Unifier cost, commitment, and cash-flow tracking; and EPM/Planning.
  • Experience in a capital-intensive business such as power generation, energy, utilities, real estate, industrial, or infrastructure.
  • Experience in defense contracting, large-scale power generation, data centers, or equivalent large construction environments.
  • Exposure to project cost tracking, purchase orders, commitments, and capex/CIP reporting.
  • Experience at a newly public or high-growth company.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau.
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA progress/designation.
  • PMP or CAPM certification, or formal project management training.

Responsibilities

  • Support improvements to Finance's use of Oracle Fusion, EPM, Unifier, and reporting tools by identifying enhancements, automating manual steps, and retiring offline workarounds.
  • Map procure-to-pay, project costing, capex, and close processes; identify gaps and manual work; and help design future-state processes using standard system capabilities.
  • Standardize financial model templates, drivers, and assumptions so project and capex models are consistent, reviewable, and tied to system data.
  • Help define transactional finance activities that should move into shared services, including roles, service levels, and handoffs.
  • Document procedures, controls, and process owners to support processes after go-live.
  • Track improvement initiatives against plan and report progress to Finance Operations leadership.
  • Partner with Accounting on month-end close impacts of new processes and systems.
  • Work with Deals and Construction teams to translate operational assumptions into financial inputs.
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis and special-project work for senior leadership under tight deadlines.
  • Represent Finance in Oracle Fusion and Unifier implementation workstreams, including requirements, design sessions, configuration reviews, and data conversion.
  • Recommend test scenarios and user acceptance testing, and track defects through resolution.
  • Develop custom reports in Oracle Fusion, Unifier, and external reporting software to provide opex and capex spending insights.
  • Write job aids and help train finance users before go-live.
  • Support project finance model cost, cash-flow, and capital-requirement inputs, with clear drivers and documented assumptions.
  • Analyze budget-to-actual capex spending and develop management-level variance insights with Project Controls and Accounting.
  • Provide project and capex inputs for the annual budget, periodic reforecasts, and long-range financial plans in partnership with FP&A.
  • Support investment committee, Board, and lender materials for major capital commitments, financings, and project phases.

  • Opportunity to develop standard business processes and systems from the ground up.
  • Opportunity to grow with the finance function as the capital program scales.
